The International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes, IAGP invites professionals from different disciplines, theoretical approaches and cultures to meet every three year in an International Congress. This prestigious organization joins other institutions in different parts of the world to share work, establish partnerships of ideas, thoughts and actions, and allow for the integration and creation of new studies, research and interventions.

"Between Worlds and Cultures: Social Transformation" is the theme of the Congress that will be held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia between the 16th and 21st of July, 2012. This name reflects the needs expressed in the past by many different populations. In addition to the clinical, therapeutic, neurobiological and group process perspectives in our field, this Congress will focus on projects and models for community work with groups of all sizes. IAGP is interested in fostering competence in our field, generating professional, social and humanitarian capital for the realm of therapeutic groups and group processes in social transformation.

The Congress aims to increase professional competence through exploration of difference in theories, methods, cultures and generations. A primary purpose of the Congress is to establish a global dialogue and expand the fields of group psychotherapy and group processes.

Cartagena de Indias, called the "Heroic City", "The Pearl of the Caribbean", and "The Gate of South America", is also a symbol of diversity and cultural representation. The rich influence of different ethnic groups in this strategic location in the Caribbean makes it an international destination chosen by UNESCO in 1985 as a Heritage Site.

The Colombian Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes, ACPG, will be hosting this important event and is prepared to welcome you with cheer and enthusiasm.

We are confident that the days we will share together in Colombia will be very fruitful and full of great learning for everyone.

Come to co-create the future of our field with us in Cartagena de Indias!
